#2 Exploring DOWNTOWN HALIFAX by Bike – 2-4 HRS
Cycling Through Halifax: A Self-Guided Tour of Downtown Halifax’s Gems by Bike. This route can be completed in as little as two hours however we recommend planning for a commitment of four giving you time to experience each of the destinations and stop for lunch.
Highlights: Halifax Waterfront, Farmer’s Market, Point Pleasant Park, Public Gardens, Spring Garden Road, Citadel Hill, City Hall, Argyle Street, Pizza Corner, Halifax Central Library, and Government House
Key Neighbourhoods: Waterfront, South End, Downtown
Tip: Try a Donair, Poutine or Lobster roll.
#3 SALT MARSH TRAIL TO LAWRENCETOWN BEACH by Bike – 1/2 DAY TO FULL DAY
Travelling through a rich salt marsh this trail will take you directly to Lawrencetown Beach making for simple, easy and enjoyable riding on your bike.
Tip: Pack a picnic and stop along the trail or at Lawrencetown Beach.
#4 RUM RUNNERS TRAIL TO THE SOUTH SHORE by Bike (AKA BLT) – ½ DAY TO DAY
Cycling Adventure on the BLT Trail: A Guide to Exploring The Rum Runner’s Trail by Bike
Most riders make an afternoon or day trip by taking this trail out to the head of St. Margaret’s Bay. The area has many beaches to choose from, so bring your swim suit.
Tip: Stop at the Bike & Bean or Trellis Café for lunch or plan a multi day trip to continue down the trail to visit Mahone Bay, Chester & Lunenburg.
#5 SAMBRO LOOP by Bike ~ 60 km (ADVANCED ROAD CYCLING ROUTE)
A Breathtaking Cycling Adventure: Exploring the Crystal Crescent Loop by Bike. This route is perfect for the bike enthusiast looking to get a good amount of exercise while taking in scenery and nature along the way. About halfway through the loop, a stop into Crystal Crescent beach is recommend.
Please Note: Most people enjoy reaching Crystal Crescent and turning around to return the same way they came to maximize ocean views.
