We visited iHeartBikes in May when our cruise ship stopped in Halifax. It was easy to find the location as we walked along the waterfront, and they got us set up with bikes and helmets pretty quickly. I downloaded the recommended app (Routzz) with audio route directions and fun facts and we were off.
The two of us are experienced cyclists, but still middle-aged, and I’m not in tip-top fitness. We were able to bike around town and out to the Titanic graves and back in about 4 hours. (Definitely plan on more like 8 hours if you’d like to be more leisurely and look around at multiple stops and take pictures and stop for lunch!).
We prefer more active excursions than what the cruise ships usually offer, and this definitely fit the bill. Point Pleasant park was lovely. We’re both comfortable with riding with traffic, and we found that the recommended roads in downtown were just fine for us. I would definitely rent from iHeartBikes again, and I would recommend them to anyone who’d like to tour the city in a more active way than just sitting on a bus.
